IAVS Working Groups - Nomenclature Commission

Nomenclature Commission

Note: The Nomeclature Commission is currently inactive. The IAVS Council is developing proposals for reorganizing the Commission with a broader charge and enlarged membership.

The Nomenclature Commission is defined and composed as in the 3rd edition of ICPN in JVS 11, 2000, p. 738 and 764.

The Commission is composed of:

• a standing committee
• a committee for nomina conservanda, ambigua, inversa and mutata (CNC)
• other members of the commission.

Activities of the Commission
Beside caring about the code and stating names to be conserved, rejected, inversed or changed, the activity of the Commission involves also the registration of the new names of syntaxa and the registration of the typifications of names older than 1979.
