IAVS Bulletin

The IAVS Bulletin is the newsletter of the International Association for Vegetation Science. It contains items of potential interest to the membership and serves as the official record of IAVS meetings and activities. At present it is published in digital format at approximately annual intervals and is distributed to all members by email.

Individuals wishing to submit material for possible publication in the IAVS Bulletin should contact the Secretary of the Association, Laco Mucina (LM3@sun.ac.za).

Journal of Vegetation Science
The Journal of Vegetation Science is the official organ of the International Association of Vegetation Science. The journal publishes papers on all aspects of vegetation science, with particular emphasis on papers that develop new concepts or methods, test theory, identify general patterns, or that otherwise are likely to interest a broad readership.

Applied Vegetation Science
Applied Vegetation Science is a formal publication of the International Association of Vegetation Science and is closely linked to the Journal of Vegetation Science. Its scope includes any community-level topics relevant to human impact on vegetation, including global change, nature conservation, nature management, restoration of plant communities and of the habitats of threatened plant species, and the planning of semi-natural and urban landscapes.

Resolutions
In January 2008 the IAVS Executive Committee approved the first formal public Resolution of IAVS. This adoption grew out of a discussion in the Council and General Assembly meetings in Swansea in 2007, and the Executive Committee and Council anticipate adopting future Resolutions as a particularly effective way to honor the aim of the Association articulated in the statutes to 'increase awareness and to disseminate knowledge about vegetation.'
