The LAC section of the IAVS  invites you to take part in the practical course:

"From the field to the Desk"

In this practical course you will learn, by doing, what you need to do with your vegetation data before any statistics. The content will guide you behind the "black box" of floristics data: using "Vegtable" to understand your data.

In order to fully take advantage of the course, it is desired some basic knowledge on most of the following:

• Experience with regression models (e.g. linear regression) and graphics in R.
• Knowledge of the different classes of data in R (e.g. numeric, integer, factor, etc.) and object structures (e.g. vectors, matrices, data frames, lists, etc.). 
• Basic knowledge on multivariate statistics (not necessarily in R).
• Hopefully some experience with RMarkDown and Git. 

Sessions will take place every Friday from the 21st of April to the 19th of May. We offer five waivers for participation, please apply here.  

Important deadlines:

• application for waiver of the registration fee: from Wednesday, March 23, to Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Apply by filling this waiver application.
• online registration period: starts on April, 3 and continues until all places are filled (first come first served)
  
• first of the five workshop lectures: Friday, April 21, 21:00 CEST.
