The IAVS Bulletin is the newsletter of the International Association for Vegetation Science. It contains items of potential interest to the membership and serves as the official record of IAVS meetings and activities. It is currently published in digital format with four issues per year.

The Journal of Vegetation Science is the official organ of the International Association of Vegetation Science. The journal publishes papers on all aspects of vegetation science, with particular emphasis on papers that develop new concepts or methods, test theory, identify general patterns, or that otherwise are likely to interest a broad readership.

Applied Vegetation Science is a formal publication of the International Association of Vegetation Science and is closely linked to the Journal of Vegetation Science. Its scope includes any community-level topics relevant to human impact on vegetation, including global change, nature conservation, nature management, restoration of plant communities and of the habitats of threatened plant species, and the planning of semi-natural and urban landscapes.

Vegetation Classification and Survey (VCS) is an international, peer-reviewed journal on plant community ecology published on behalf of the IAVS together with its sister journals, Journal of Vegetation Science (JVS) and Applied Vegetation Science (AVS). It is devoted to vegetation survey and classification at any organizational and spatial scale and without restriction to certain methodological approaches.

Palaearctic Grasslands is the journal of the IAVS Working Group EDGG (Eurasian Dry Grassland Group). PG serves as newsletter of the Working Group, photo magazine and peer-reviewed journal on all topics related to ecology, biodiversity, management and conservation of natural and semi-natural grasslands in the Palaearctic biogeographic realm (North Africa, Europe, extra-tropical parts of Asia). PG is a gold open access journal without article processing charges.

Vegetation Science Blog (www.vegsciblog.org) is an official blog of Applied Vegetation Science, Journal of Vegetation Science, Vegetation Classification and Survey, Palaearctic Grasslands and IAVS Bulletin, scientific journals owned by the IAVS. Authors of papers published in IAVS journals are invited to contribute blog post about their research.

In January 2008 the IAVS Executive Committee approved the first formal public Resolution of IAVS. This adoption grew out of a discussion in the Council and General Assembly meetings in Swansea in 2007, and the Executive Committee and Council anticipate adopting future Resolutions as a particularly effective way to honor the aim of the Association articulated in the statutes to ''increase awareness and to disseminate knowledge about vegetation.''
