IAVS wants to support vegetation scientists from countries where limited funding precludes membership in IAVS and access to IAVS journals is not available. For that reason, IAVS is offering discounted membership to people residing in certain countries. Comparison of countries according to their GDP (per capita PPP), which is currently used within IAVS, follows The World Factbook database compiled by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, and can be accessed here: Ranking of Countries by GDP.

IAVS is also offering discounted membership to students, PhD students, unemployed and retired scientists.

Other persons can apply for a waiver of the membership dues by application to the IAVS Global Sponsorship Committee (GSC). More information about the GSC and how to apply for a waiver of the fees is available on the Financial Support page via the Read More button below.
