Step 1: Select your Member Type

Thank you for your interest in IAVS!

To join IAVS for the first time, you need to follow the steps described below*.

*Kindly note that you will receive a response to your application within 5 working days after submission. If you have any questions during the registration process, please contact us at membership@iavs.org.

Step 1: Select your Member Type: Regular or Student

You will find a table of IAVS 2021 membership dues on the page here.

Please note that discounted membership is offered to members residing in countries with per-capita income below 25,000 US$ PPP and will be calculated automatically depending on your country.

Comparison of countries according to their GDP (per capita PPP) follows The World Factbook database compiled by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, and can be accessed here: Ranking of Countries by GDP.

Step 2: Create a username

You will then be invited to create a username and to enter your first name and last name.

Step 3: Select your Membership

Select a membership period: 1 year or 3 years

Step 4: Membership Details

You will be invited to complete your member profile.

During this step, you will also have the opportunity to subscribe to IAVS Journals.

IAVS members are entitled to discounted subscriptions to Journal of Vegetation Science (JVS) and Applied Vegetation Science (AVS), the Society's official publications:

IAVS Regular Members in countries with PCI > $25K:

AVS (US$10.50),
JVS (US$45.00),
AVS & JVS (US$52.70).

IAVS Regular Members in countries with PCI $10K- $25K / Student Members in countries with a PCI > $25K:

AVS (US$6.30),
JVS (US$27.00),
AVS & JVS (US$31.60).

Subscription fees are waived for regular members in countries w/ PCI < $10K and for students in countries with PCI < $25K.

Step 5: Membership Dues

At this final step, you also will have the opportunity to join IAVS Working Groups and/or Regional Sections of your choice. You will then be requested to enter your billing details and will also have the opportunity to donate to IAVS.

Kindly note that the online payment system is temporarily unavailable. Select the 'Bill me' option if you want to proceed with your registration and a member of our Secretariat will re-contact you for finalising the payment as soon as the online payment is functioning again.
